TNT Update

This year, as snowmobile season starts to gain momentum (and snow), we are all looking at what preparations need to be made for a successful season of riding. Pulling sleds out of storage and prepping for the season is usually a short frantic time when you prepare your machine with a quick tune up and possibly add on those sweet accessories you picked up in the off season. As for those involved in clubs across the state, there is no short frantic prep time. The whole off-season has been a flurry of activity securing funds, landowner permissions, rebuilding equipment, clearing new trails, brushing and signing, and maintaining all club activity. This usually falls on a few individuals to keep things in check and moving forward.

As the snow falls and the trails open, gears shift into grooming operations and constant equipment maintenance. The club doesn’t stop working at any time of the year. It is a selfless act that goes on behind the scenes. Volunteers from all walks of life are the backbone of the club. They are the ones that keep the engine turning on the groomer for an 8 hour run after working their normal job. They help with the labors of brush clearing and signing each year. They drop everything to run out at 2am to fix a broken groomer 10 miles back in the bush. This is how you get the best trails to ride is by being an active member in a snowmobile club. This is how all of us at Trenary Northern Trails feel as some of our active members also help other clubs.
Every little bit helps. As we shift gears on our end and secure the final permissions plan for what next year will bring to the greater Trenary area, we ask for your help. We are on track to have a ready to groom trail by next fall, but only with a little hard work will we be able to get it. As many people have heard, the Historic Long Branch was removed from downtown Trenary the last week of November. Like many people, we are sad to see it go. So many memories were made there and many people recalled those memories on social media posts as pictures and videos were posted. On top of where the old foundation was, we are pleased to say that we are planting the roots of our club as we will soon be given the property to further our cause! This is big! We couldn’t have done it without our members paying dues and patiently waiting on us to acquire our 501-c3 and roll forward for the last few years to get where we are today! We thank you! Now it is time to have faith in us for one more year and let us prove to you that we are doing exactly what we started out to do. Just by being a member, your dues support our club and go towards insurance, legal fees, paperwork fees, and other small costs that occur from being a legal entity. By being an active member, you also get the feeling of accomplishment whether it is driving the groomer during the season, helping out at a club function, or just volunteering a few hours one day on the off season to brush the trail. Every little bit helps. That is why volunteers are the backbone of the club. We couldn’t do it without you!

We are updating our membership so that we can provide members with as much information as possible.
